David and my mother were married for 30 plus years and he is the only grandfather my children have ever known. My favorite memories are of all the Thanksgivings they were able to spend at our home here in Richmond. He had such a difficult year and I'm sure he is at peace now without suffering. My condolences to Jodi,Bobby and Davey as this type of loss is especially difficult. May you also feel peace in the coming weeks ahead.

Grandaddy was always a master of the outdoors in my eyes. He taught me how to fish, hunt, enjoy and most importantly respect nature. He embedded in me a great appreciation for the outdoor world through his deep knowledge of its workings. I have many great memories of him letting me drive the tractor to cut his grass, cruising the lake for bass or on a surfboard, shooting a potato gun at Boyscout camp, target practice at family reunions, my first and only deer, lessons on how to spin a cue ball with english, oreos and milk, and stories of Ralph the snake eater. He would entertain me, Jake, and Josh for hours with three wheel rides, canned beans, breadsticks, and stories that I could never fully grasp as truth or entertainment. One of my favorite memories was Grandaddy breaking a fishing rod while setting the hook with full intensity into what was surely going to be a monster catch! It turned out to be an unbelievably small little brim, which was hilarious. My time at Nan and Grandaddy's house was always peaceful, loving, and some of my favorite from childhood. He will be greatly missed by me and my family. Rest in Peace Grandaddy.

I've had the opportunity to work with David when we were employed by H&L Corporation 1979-1981. I must say this, David was like a big brother to me and is one of the utmost people I ever met and worked with. I will always remember him.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time.

I am very saddened to hear about his passing. He was always upbeat and a happy person and could bring a smile to everyone around him . I knew him from NNSY and he added a room to my house long ago. May the Lord bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. He will be missed by all . Jim Rowan
