PAWLECKI David A. David A. Pawlecki, age 66, of Temperance, MI, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010, at home. He was born on May 22, 1943 in Toledo, OH to Henry and Louise (Manz) Pawlecki who preceded him in death. He was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School, and attended the University of Toledo. David served in the Ohio Army National Guard Military Police for six years, discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was appointed to the Toledo Police Department on October 1, 1965 and worked Patrol, Traffic Bureau, Administrative Staff, and as a Civil Liability Investigator with the City of Toledo Law Department. David was promoted to Sergeant in 1976 and to the rank of Lieutenant in 1981. While with the department, he received many awards and commendations. David was a member of the Retired Toledo Police Officers Association, Command Officers and the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed owning and maintaining classic autos, and would attend as many car shows as he was able, but most of all he enjoyed attending the sporting events and recitals of his grandchildren, and the times spent with all his family in the lakes region of Angola, IN. David is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara (Bowman) Pawlecki; sons, Brian (Kimberley) of Indianapolis and Jon (Michelle) Pawlecki of Lambertville; daughter, Julie (Joseph) Veryser of Perrysburg Twp.; brothers, Henry (Dorothy) and John (Nancy) Pawlecki; and grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Trent and Logan Pawlecki, and Lauren, Alyssa and Kelly Veryser. In addition to his parents, his granddaughter, Emily Veryser preceded him in death. Family and friends may visit on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 E. Alexis Rd., where members of the F.O.P. will lead a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. The Funeral Service for David will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Gerald Ignatowski presiding. The Lucas County Burial Corps will conclude with a Military Committal Service in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. My family and I will miss our neighbor and friend, Dave; he touched our lives in a great way. Kristi the boys and I enjoyed our many conversations in your driveway as we passed by. Dave always took the time to ask how each of us were doing especially Kristi. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and we are always here for you when you need us.

Dear Barb and family,
So sorry to hear about your loss.
youu're in my thought, heart and prayers.
Whenever I think of Dave, Iremember the time that Barb told me about talking to Dave about his hertiage. He said he was 1/3 Polish (because he had two brothers). It always made me smile.

Dear Barb & family.
Just heard of your sad loss. Sorry it is too late for me to visit in person. My family and I send sympathy to all of you.
Although time has passed and we have lost connection, we still carry many good memories of when we were neighbors on Angel Av.
May you be comforted in knowing Dave is in a fully peaceful rest - that you will join in together someday.
Sincerely,
Barb
