David Raymond Perry, 88, of Soulsbyville, California, passed away on January 7, 2025. He was born on October 12, 1936, in Oakland, California.

David attended San Leandro High School and later pursued his education at San Francisco State University. He built a successful career with the *Hayward Daily Review* newspaper, where he worked in sales before rising to the position of vice president. Beyond his professional accomplishments, David had a lifelong passion for drag racing. As a dragster enthusiast and owner of his own dragster, he actively participated in the sport from the 1950s until 2010.

David will be fondly remembered by those who knew him as a good friend with a great smile. His warmth and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 13 years, Mary Anne Perry; his children, David Raymond Perry Jr., Philip Perry, and Michelle Wilcox; his grandchildren, David Perry III, Danika Perry, Austin Perry, Matt Moran, Kristine Moran, Justin Moran, Aaron Moran, and Stephanie Perry; and 17 great-grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Perry, who passed away in 2009.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, at the Willow Springs Clubhouse in Soulsbyville.

David's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May his legacy bring comfort to all who cherished him.

I always enjoyed being in your presence and I admire how you would always have a smile on your face when I saw you no matter how you were doing, you knew how to brighten up any room. You were very loved and you will be forever missed grandma Perry!

Dave(Doc) will be missed, he was such a happy kind hearted man.
I don't believe I ever saw Doc that he didn't have a smile on his face.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
