David E. Pifer

David E. Pifer, age 65, of Erie, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on July 6, 1947 the eldest son of the late Eugene and Delores Snyder Pifer. David was a top-performing Salesman for Chromate Industrial Sales. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and archery. He belonged to the Erie Skeet Club, the Gem City Gun Club, and the Bay City Gun club. He also served in the military during the Vietnam War, and was a proud member of the VFW Post 470. He is survived by his wife, Norene Laskowski Pifer, a daughter, Devon Schroeck and her husband Chuck of Cleveland, Ohio, two grandsons, Justin and Ryan Schroeck, two sisters, Debbie Pifer and Deidre Gray both of Erie, a brother, Douglas Pifer and his partner Marlene Platko. Additionally, several nieces and nephews, Dr. Whitney Alan Gray, Brittany Gray, Joshua Pifer, and Kaley Pifer and close friend and brother in law, David Laskowski, also survive.
