David Pruitt Obituary
David served in the Navy from 1977-1987, serving in the Gulf War. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Patsy Pruitt; and sister, Debra Gibbins.
He leaves behind his wife, Heidi Pruitt; children, Kayla, Nakita and David Jr.; grandchildren, Avery Pruitt, Logan and Sofia Ortiz; and siblings, Gary Pruitt, Donna Shearer and Robin Gilbert.
A visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA 95341 on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Graveside services will be held at Merced District Cemetery, 1300 B St., Merced, CA 95341 on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00pm.
Arrangements under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, Merced, CA.

I have known you David for almost all of your life.You were such a cute little guy and grew up to be a handsome guy. Your dad, Gary Sr. worked for my husband , Bill Gilliland and we had some great time together. I know it will be a great reunion with your Mom and Dad. You will be missed by all those that knew you. Dave was my supervisor when I was just a kid of 18-20 at Toy's R Us in Merced california in the years from 98-2000. At the time, he was one of the coolest older guys I had ever met.. His war, fishing and hunting stories were always a riot to me. I really looked up to him at this time of my life. I didnt have much of a dedicated father.. I still to this day hardly ever have a conversation with my own dad.. But Dave filled some of that void in my life for a short period of time. He really was one of the coolest guys I had ever met.. And a super fun Supervisor to have worked for. Rest in peace Dave. I hope your heaven consist of great fishing.. Them angels are gonna need to hear them stories!

You clearly are embedded in one of my most cherished childhood memories... You told me you were going hunting and would bring me back a baboon. You were kind to me and I will never forget that...Rest in peace...God bless my buddy Carol Earhardt and your wife and children...all of your family and friends who love you so.
