I was very sad to hear of David's death. I have very fond memories of David, and we had lovely conversations over the years about travel and family. David always spoke so highly of his family. I also had the pleasure of meeting Lis, and seeing his love for his wife.
Kindest regards to his family,
Kim Tottenham

My love and sympathy to Anne, Tracey, Jacqui and families. So many wonderful happy memories from our childhood days in Brooklyn. Dave and Lis were always welcoming, hospitable and caring people. I will always be thankful for Dave allowing us to rent the house on Mills Road - a great home when needed. I know you will all miss Dave and there will be a big hole in your lives. May you always know the love and impact he had that helped to shape you into the great people you are today. Love and hugs

Our deepest sympathy at the passing of your Dad.
A shame we had so little time with him as our new neighbour.

Dave was a huge part or my years at Trade and Industry, and it's other reincarnations. He was the glue that kept it running. My deepest condolences to Dave's family and whanau. Ceri

David supported the imigration of my parents, Robert and Sandra Craig to new Zealand in the early seventies and both him and Lis remained close family friends even on our return to England. A friendship I was honoured to continue on my mother's passing, with visits from both sides when able and the yearly calander becoming a tradition handed down. For the past two years David and I would message, almost daily, with photos and discussions on the roses in his garden but mostly about his family, of which he was rightly very proud. I will miss his messages and am planting a rose in my own garden to honour a man who's kindness and friendship spanned the globe.

David was the secretary of the football club that organised for Margaret and I to emigrate to NZ and Wellington from Belfast Northern Ireland in 1972. He would have spent endless hours (of his own time) corresponding back and forward to us and immigration authorities to facilitate our passage and on arrival he and Lis organised us with accommodation and all things necessary to be able to settle. We have now been in Onepoto Titahi Bay for 50 years but always look back with grateful thanks for the unselfish time that David and Lis put in to helping us settle in Wellington. David -a good man.
