Dear Barbara,
The Soc Trang Tigers have lost a brother, a comrade, and a friend. The reunion at Ft Rucker gave those who served with him and reconnected afterward grand opportunity to pause and remember him and your family. He will be missed but never forgotten. God rest Dave and hold you and the girls close.

Barbara, Cassie, and Shannon,
I can't even begin to express my sadness and sense of loss when I heard of Dave's passing. We've lost touch over the years, but ALL of you have never been far from my heart and memories. I wish I was there to help you through this unbearable time. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. David was such a special part of my life for so many years. What a kind and loving man he was. I find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with Mindy.
I love you all dearly,

Cassie, I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. He was one of the nicest individuals I ever had the pleasure of meeting. I always liked listening to him talk when i was over for a visit. What a beautiful Spirit.

To describe Dave in one word, would have to be Warrior. No question in my mind. The Man would fight anything to the ends of his abilities. On the flipside, It did not matter who you were. If you asked him for help. He would be there in a heartbeat, and with a backup plan that kept him up the previous night, figuring out the details. If he was going to do something, you'd better believe that, not only was it going to be right...it was gonna be damn near perfect!
To tell a funny story...he re-did pretty much all of the electrical work at my house. Including a new hookup from the live wire off of the pole on the street. He's up on the ladder in process. I asked, from the ground, what I could do to help. His reply, was simply...grab your phone and dial 9-1- and hang there. If you see sparks....dial another 1...What a great sense of humor.
Cool as a cucumber up there.
The attendence at the viewing was truly beautiful. The Man touched so many lives in such significant ways, he will always be remembered. Thank you to everyone for all of the prayers and overall best wishes!
The world could use more people that strong!

Love always,

Frank

Aunt Barbara, Shannon & Cassie: I'm so sorry for your loss. Uncle David was taken from us, well before his time. I can see his face, hear his voice, and feel his hug, as if he were here with us still. What comforts me, and I hope each of you, is the fact that Mindy is seeing his face, hearing his voice and FEELING his hug after all of these years! I can't stop thinking about how wonderful their reunion must be! Now, together, they'll both be watching over you. I hope you are able to find comfort in this, and the many fond memories you have.
All my love,

Bill Descalzi

Tim, Sheryl and the entire Reitmeyer Family,
We are so sorry for your loss of David and send you our love, support and prayers. I just always remember David being such a wonderfully nice guy and loving person. He and Barbara were so happy for us when we had our daughter Paige, and always fussed over her when we saw them. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that he and his beautiful daughter Mindy are reunited and shining down their love to all. God Bless you all.
With love,
Stacey, Bob and Paige Hurbanek
