David was my 1st cousin, but he was more like my brother, as were his brothers and sister. We were always together as kids, the whole lot of us. I have so many great memories, like going to the Police Man´s parade in Newport RI , going to Kings Castle land in Massachusetts. I´ll never forget my first Red Sox game, which was a double header! After the game we climbed the fence and got Freddy Lynn´s and Luis Tiant´s autographs. Our families would all get together at our house in Jamestown for the 4th of July. Most of us would camp in our backyard for the weekend. We had fireworks, played volleyball and badminton and a family favorite courier. David and I spent hours, watching the creature double feature on Saturdays from noon till four. Then it was Star Trek and off to bed, where we would build a fort under his bed.
As we got older we started going to the movies, and then the Arcade was born! We spent hours there. We would usually grab a pizza at the Pete´s A Place, or some delicious cookies at The Cookie Jar. We would play rundown for hours with David´s brother Paul, or pass the football around. Unfortunately , David and my cousins moved to Florida and my best friend was gone. David and I grew apart because of the distance, we saw each other a few times throughout the years but just wasn´t the same. We thankfully reconnected a few years ago and talked on holidays and birthdays.
David was a special person, and I am sad I never got to hug him one more time or talk about movies or the Sox or how fast our children grew up. I love you cuz, you are definitely missed.
I am so sorry for your loss and our prayers are with you and your family!
