David A. Runyon, 56, of St. Joseph passed away Monday, March 10, 2008, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago IL. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Curious Kid's Museum. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. Runyon was born September 26, 1951 in Lincoln, Illinois to Arthur & Mary (Hendrick) Runyon. In 1969 he graduated from Normal Community High School in IL. After two years in the service and 15 years as an Iron worker, he then graduated from Rush University in Illinois with a Bachelors of Science degree. He worked as a Perfusionist for 15 years, the last seven years at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. On November 15, 1975 David married Patty (Knoll) Runyon in Denver Colorado. In his spare time he enjoyed volunteering at the Curious Kid's Museum and with Relay for Life. He also enjoyed golfing, camping, long walks on the beach with his wife, home improvements, spending time with his family, and putting a smile on everyone's face. Mr. Runyon is survived by his parents Arthur & Mary (Hendrick) Runyon of Bloomington, IL; wife Patty (Knoll) Runyon of St. Joseph; daughter Sarah Runyon of St. Joseph; two sisters Debbie (Larry) Lappin of Effingham, IL. Cathy (Timur) Eads of Purcellville VA; three brothers Paul (Nancy) Runyon of Downers Grove, IL., Tom (Jean) Runyon of Lafayette, IN., and Tim (Brenda) Runyon of Channahon IL; brother-in-law Tom (Naomi) Knoll of Elgin, IL; sister-in-law Marcie Knoll of Algonquin, IL; Many nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
