Liz, Andy and Eric,
I am so sorry for your loss! Had so many great times with and coaching with David or as I called him Davie Boy. You were always like a second family to me and Andy like a second son. I will always regret that we lost touch with one another. May God bless you all and help you through this very sad time. RIP Davie Boy!!

We are deep in sorrow at RMU Athletics over this tragic loss. Dave was a great fan of RMU Athletics, ever-present at all of our sports events, and we were so looking forward to seeing him in Cleveland on Saturday at the softball tournament our team is playing in. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family, and Dave will now have the best seat possible at all sporting events in the future!

Shan we've been friends for a lot of years. Played and watched a ton of games together. I'm going to miss you pal. I'll think about you when I go to games at Robert Morris and Duquesne. RIP buddy.

Dave & I were good friends in high school. I remember him as a very fun-loving guy. He always looked out for the girls we hung out with. I emember one night we were filming a horror move with Tom Friedrich. Never did figure that one out. I wonder how it turned out. Much love to your family Dave. I was hoping to see you at our next reunion.

Went to High School with Dave. Knew who he was but finally got to hang out with him at the end of our senior year. Had a great time and always regretted not spending more time with him and Ken.

Although, I am miles away and have been out of touch with so many wonderful friends, I am heartbroken again when I heard of the loss of Dave.
Many years have passed but there are so many fond memories that are still etched into my memory. The Shannon home was a comforting hub for so many of us. I can still hear Ralph doing his best to try to straighten out us "long haired runny nose hippies". You did good, Ralph.
I could always count on a kind word, words of reason, along with an occasional hug from "Mom". Thank you Kathleen Mom Shannon. My heart aches for your losses.
I believe it was Rick that first gave me the nickname 'Punky". Sort of fits even now. I will always remember Rick as the Quarter Back, not just in football but many other aspects of life. I can't remember him ever being mad. He was always fun to be around. I will never forget our trip to California and back in my Corvair Van. So many stories. Don't worry. I won't tell your mom. Rick, you will be missed.
Jane and Mary. Always a pleasure to be around. I don't know how you two put up with all of us guys hanging around back in the good old days. May you somehow find some peace in all of this.
David, you were a great friend. I know I haven't seen you or talked to you in so many years, but you and your entire family have had a positive lasting impact on my life and I am sure many others. I am sad to hear that you left us. We had a lot of good times together playing just about every sport from football to ping pong. Not to mention the Brookline mini olympics. Goodbye David. Catch you later.
To the Shannon Family: About as close to perfect as they come. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
In Deepest Sympathy,
Tom (Punky) Friedrich
