David Alan Sherer

David Alan Sherer David Alan Sherer, age 78, passed away at home on May 15, 2025 in Aurora, CO. He was born on January 16, 1947, in Santa Monica, California, the beloved son of Gordon and Bettie Sherer. David was a devoted husband to Linda Sherer for 55 years, a loving father to April Valdez (Mark) and Cameron Sherer, a proud Papa to Wyatt Valdez, and loving brother to Clarke (Elizabeth) and Dean (Angel) Sherer. His family was the heart of his world, and his love and dedication to them were unwavering. David began his professional life serving with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, then moved to Dinkey Creek, CA for a short period before taking on the art world in Taos, New Mexico at the Taos Art Gallery in 1974. He spent much of his career as a respected art gallery owner of the Taos Gallery in Taos, New Mexico, and Scottsdale, Arizona. Through his work, he built lasting relationships with artists and collectors, and he took great pride in sharing creativity and beauty with others. Even after retiring from the gallery business, David remained engaged in the art world through his work with AskArt, helping preserve and share the work of American artists. David's life was a quiet testament to integrity, faith, and love. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial will be held on July 9, 2025, at Highpoint Church in Aurora, CO at 11:00 am for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to the Geno Strong Fund through Highpoint Church in Aurora, CO.
