While I never had the honor of meeting David I feel like I share a bond with him as a fellow cyclist. I can tell that all of those who did meet him are better people because of it. Thanks, David.

To Laurie and the entire Sherman Family,
I never had the pleasure of meeting David in high school, but judging by everything I've read, he was obviously a remarkable man. My thoughts and prayers are with you. T.C. Williams - Class of 73

Ann and daughters. I will always remember fondly the time we spent together in Nashville and Central Florida and Little Beth calling me Arkay. I so looked forward to the Christmas cards each year from David.
The world is deeply going to miss this man with with the dynamic personality and zest for life.

I knew David in High School at T. C. Williams. I will keep your family in my prayers. I wished I had know he was in Greensboro since I am there a couple of times a year, would have loved to have seen him.

David's death is another reminder of the regret I have in not keeping up with friends from those days.

Laurie and family. I am so sad to hear of Dave's passing! My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please know that he is looking down on you and keeping you safe!

My deepest sympathy to the Sherman family. Another taken too soon. His spirit lives in Heaven, in your hearts, and in your memories until you meet again.

David and I were great friends in high school and, unfortunately, fell out of touch afterwards, only seeing each other once or twice in the intervening years. However I feel a great sense of loss, made worse by the fact that I never realized that we lived so near to one another these past 10 years.

To this day I tell the stories of some of our 'adventures' and laugh. Though we were out of touch for many years, I always felt a sense that a part of Dave was still with me. I am certain that those of you who knew him far better feel this even more profoundly.

I mourn your loss and will celebrate Dave's life, the great memories I have, and regret forever having missed the opportunity to have re-connected.

May God watch over each of you and may your memories help sustain you through this difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear of Dave's untimely death from Tom Klima. I will always cherish the memories of Dave from our high school years together and know that he was great person and I am thankful that our paths crossed. Heaven hath another angel. Rest in Peace, my Friend.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Sherman family. I had the opportunity to work with Dave when I first came to work at Sealy and admired his kindness, enthusiasm and his sense of humor. He was truly a great person to know.

Dear Ann,
I didn't know David, and I don't know the pain of losing a husband, but I do know the crippling pain of sudden loss. My heart aches for you and your daughters, and I will be holding all of you in the light. May you feel God's love in the arms of your family and friends.

Our deepest condolences to your family. My husband is an avid cyclist as well...I cannot begin to imagine your grief. I hope your family can find some small bit solace in the knowledge that there are many in our community that are holding you close in our thoughts and prayers.

I was so incredibly sorry to hear about Dave. He always had a story and pictures of you all to share whenever I was in the corporate office. What a loss.

Your wife taught my daughter at New Garden. I wish I had known you. I would have been better for it. Starting to ride and to learn the violin as an adult is just inspring, as well as your life in general. I'm sure you left a good mark on a lot of lives.

Even though Duncan, Lauren, and I knew David for only a short time in our lives, it is amazing how he touched us all in a profound way. David's kindness, warmth, sincerity, and love for others will forever have an impact on our family. We will miss him dearly. Know we are here for you.

I only met David this summer when he joined us cycling in the Carolina and Virginia mountains but I will always remember and cherish the short time we had together.
