I will remember and miss Uncle Dave with fondness. He was so much fun to have at the track, all the years we were there. I would take out food to him and all the other yellow shirts. He sure loved that! I miss my parents so much and I am sad that their generation of Shocks is now gone. I hope they are all in heaven, having a great time, welcoming Dave!

I am sad to hear about Uncle Davie, as I set down to write this I started thinking about when you live in the upstairs of the old farm house, I can remember when your dad would play pitch and catch with me in your front yard. I remember all of us would get together for holidays and cookouts and all the great food we used to put away. The last time I saw your dad and mom we talked about all those good times, He also talked about working at the track at both the 500 and the Brickyard 400. I could tell in his voice and the smile on his face just how much he enjoyed it. I wish I could make it up there to see you all but I know that you will have will comfort each other and remember all the good times you've had together.
