David Uel Shorter

If there was a man with lots of goodness and lots of brain that was Dave.He could listen for hours and speak few wise words that will net the whole discussion.God rest his soul in peace.

Hi I'm Stephanie Shorter and I'm

one of Davids grandaughters.

The day my dad told me he died

I did not know he died on my

birthday!!!

Then at the wake I thought about life with out grandpa then I

started to cry but I'm always happy when I think of the memories!!!

Dave was not only the finest IBM systems engineer I ever worked with, he also became a very good friend. We had many good times together at Mutual of Omaha, where we worked together on several critical and challenging projects. I'll really miss kibitzing with him via e-mail. My condolences and sympathy to Dave's family.

My sincere sympathy to Dave's family. I did not have the opportunity to work closely with Dave at IBM, but all who did respected him for the person he was and admired him for the intellect he brought to our business. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word.

May God grant you the peace and serenity so well deserved through a life of such great accomplishments. Rest in Peace, David.

Maybe the most respected technical leader I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Rest in peace Dave.

We were so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Daryl and I both had the priviledge of working with him sometime during our IBM careers (he was in the organization I supported when I started with IBM in 1981 and then worked with Daryl later on). He gave so much to so many people during his lifetime. He will be truly missed. Your family has been in our prayers. May God comfort you now.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. Dave was always appreciated as a friend to everyone who knew him.

Dave was a voice or reason and inspiration to many of us at IBM. He will be missed!!!

He could make the most complex things seem very simple. We'll all miss him.

We will miss you. You were one of the best people I knew at IBM. You could talk to everyone from an executive to a programmer and make the converation a real communication.
