SIBOLE
David J. Sibole (age 55) passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2013, surrounded by family. David was born on November 9, 1957, in Neptune, New Jersey. After graduating High School, he made the courageous decision to join the United States Air Force. While serving his country, he met his loving wife of 32 years, Elizabeth. Their joint service allowed them to travel the world and meet many wonderful new friends whom they considered family. Upon retirement David joined the Civil Service where he continued to serve his country. During this time, he received many awards and recognitions from his supervisors and peers throughout his career for his hard work and dedication. He also devoted much of his time volunteering in the community. After spending 20 years overseas he returned home to the United States. He was reassigned in 2009 to the Civil Engineering Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
David is preceded in death by his father Douglas Sibole, and his sister, Teresa Sibole. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Sibole; his children: Michael Montoya (daughter in-law Amy Montoya), Christopher Montoya, Marc Montoya, Desiree Sibole-Laing and Andrea Sibole; two grandchildren: Alan Montoya and Helena Laing; his mother, Anne Sibole; his siblings: Douglas Drummond, Judy Adams, Regina Wright, Christopher Sibole, Peter Sibole, and Jeffery Sibole; and his many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Rosary in David's honor on March 7, 2013 at 7 pm at St. Anthony Mary Claret Church. Funeral services will take place on March 8, 2013, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Mary Claret Church. A reception will follow. David will receive Military Honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 pm.
He is greatly loved and will be missed by many.

I didnt know David well at all, he was closer to my brother Harry Huylers age. I did however know Jeffrey and Peter. I would just like to say I am so sorry for your loss and the loss to Davids family and the rest of the Siboles. May God give you all strength to endure.

Seven years now... remembering good times and bad times. The Poderosa, your belly scar, Wyoming Gate. I try to hold on to the fond memories. The reality of this world with less and less of you guys drives me to tears.

I was so saddened to learn only today that one of the best bosses that I ever worked for, Mr. Sibole, passed away. He was very encouraging, fair, well-respected and personable. He always spoke of his family and how proud he was of his children. His words of encouragement inspired me to pursue higher level education. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his dear family.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations, I am sincerely thankful for his valiant service in defense of our rights and freedom.

His commitment to family, friends, our community, and to serving our great nation leaves a wonderful legacy. May the love and the wonderful memories you shared with him help you when you need it most. He will never be forgotten, and your family will be remembered in my prayers.

David and I were great friends growing up as neighbors in Neptune and classmates the same year. We both joined the USAF out of high school although we went in different fields and lost contact. Will remember Dave for his humor and occasional outrageous personality; we did lots of crazy things on our block. My thoughts are with the boys, Chris, Pete & Jeff, whom I knew well, and the entire Sibole family.

My condolences to the family; a really good person. I was fortunate to have him as a supervisor at Lackland AFB.

The Sibole's and The Johnson's became one family while stationed in the Acores, Portugal. I'm not sure how we even found each other, because before I met him, I didn't even like him! He was a little too loud for me. Then we met and through golf, softball, humor and maybe a drink or two, we became inseparable. We then dragged our families into our friendship and we now have a lifetime of memories. Dave became my brother and we became a weird but fun family; the family thought Dave and I were weird, we in turn thought we were fun! We have a hole in our hearts and are deeply saddened, but the priviledge of being Dave's closest friend and our lifetime friendship with his family has brightened our lives forever. One last thing Dave, we never got those trees cut down that blocked our ocean view from the veranda! I still enjoyed our cigars and port wine. Rest in peace my friend.

I love you brother. Scott J.

So fortunate to have had the opportunity to reconnect with Dave after many years - he was a personality and person I never forgot from my high school days. His heart was as great as his sense of humor; it is obvious he lived his life well in the days following our graduation. Prayers for peace and strength to his family.
