David Sligh Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 2, 2024.
Our beloved grandson, son, nephew, father, husband, cousin, uncle, and friend passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, in a road rage incident. He is survived by his son, Seeley Sligh; his wife, Shannon Sligh; his mother, Michele Sligh; his grandparents, Dr. Betty and Dr. Mohammed Ahmed and Harvey and Carol Sligh; his aunt and uncle, Deborah and David Bouton; his cousins, Tiffany Bouton Lerret (Matthew), Jessica Bouton, Jacob Bouton (Maria), and Kimberlyn Bouton Anderson (Michael Paul); his nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends.

David (Alex) Sligh attended schools in Brevard and Orange County and graduated from Lincoln Academy with a high school diploma. He was a certified forklift operator. While he was in high school, he worked for Publix Supermarket part-time in Orlando and Titusville. He later entered the hospitality industry and worked for several food service companies in Titusville, Cocoa, and Merritt Island. He moved to Orlando and started with a temporary job service in 2023, and on January 22, 2024, while on his way to his first day as a permanent employee, he lost his life to senseless road rage. Alex loved his family and family gatherings, music, Earth Day concerts, car races, a good steak, expensive sneakers, and most of all spending time with Seeley.

Celebration of Life Private Services will be held Saturday, February 3rd, at Cocoa-Rockledge Garden Club, Rockledge, Florida.

He can truly say with Paul, "I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith". 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV).

I met Alex when he was 1 1/2yrs old.. We have always shared a close bond. Last time I talked to him he sent me pictures from Seeley s 1st birthday. He was SO excited to be a dad!! I love & miss you greatly!!

My first memory of David was unforgettable. He came into the Merritt Island Taco Bell for a job interview. His smile caught my attention immediately and he was so polite. Impressed me with pushing in his chair from the table he sat at when he was interviewing with my boss. He was the best thing that ever happened to me. He was so loving with my older sons, it only made sense after we found out we were pregnant that it would be a boy. He loved all of our sons unconditionally. I´m so thankful for having the chance at having the time of my life with my soulmate.
