Doris Byas Dye, 90, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: A private memorial service and interment will be held in Tage Cemetery in Bowie.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agape Baptist Church or Covenant Hospice Care.
Doris was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Bowie to Charlie C. Byas and Gertrude M. Byas. She married Jack Max Dye on Aug. 15, 1938. To this union was born one daughter, Betty Sue Dye, on June 30, 1940.
Doris worked on Mare Island Navy Yard as a secretary during World WarII. Later she worked for Sinclair Oil in Fort Worth, then worked as a teacher's aide for five years before retiring in 1985.
Survivors: Husband, Jack Max Dye of Fort Worth; daughter, Betty Sue Lyell of Brentwood, Tenn.; granddaughter, Susan Lee Young of Nashville, Tenn.; great-granddaughters, Amelie Lee Young and Bonnie Sue Young, both residing in Nashville, Tenn.; and several nephews and nieces.
