To David's family,
I just wanted to say that David is dearly missed by all his friends at Wesleyan Potters. He was such a talented man and a true gentleman. His spirit lives on in his work.

I never met David in person but I became aware of his wonderful tapestry work when I bought my first piece of his at the Wesleyan Potters show in 2004, I believe. Each year after that, I'd look forward to seeing his work there. I am honored to own three of his wall pieces and one vessel. They speak to me, and have inspired my own fiber art. More importantly, I communicated with David by email a few times and he was always generous in his responses to my queries about his work. I love the video on his website. I truly wish I had met him in person as I know I would have liked him very much. Each time I walk by one of his tapestries, I rediscover it. I will always treasure them. My thoughts go out to you, his family.

David was a supremely talented artist, a wonderfully gentle man and his wonderful smile conveyed perhaps his most important quality: his always congenial and upbeat presence. I always enjoyed seeing him at the Wesleyan Potters Sales. His smile never failed to lift my spirits

This obituary describes David beautifully. I used to love to go to the antique shop on East Hampton CT as much to say hello to him as to see what new artistic gems he had. He was an inspiration.

I will miss seeing David at Wesleyan Potters around the time of the Annual Sale. It was always exciting to his work--the intricacy, complexity, and sheer beauty of his work was outstanding. What I will truly miss is David--a truly kind and generous gentleman, a consummate craftsman.
We are all lucky to have beautiful people like this in life.

So sorry to hear of David's passing. I worked with him over the years at The Traveler's. I had occasion to contact him when he was living in Vermont, concerning galleries in Woodstock. I am a landscape painter and he was of great assistance in bringing me up to date on the gallery situation in VT. We nenewed old times and I was glad to hear he was doing well. I greatly enjoyed his designs in silk screening.
Very much saddened that he is no longer with us.
My sincere condolences to his family.
Sincerely,
Gil Fahey

I was so sad to hear of David’s death. Every time we visited our cabin on Bridgewater Hill we went to see him. Several times we toured his home and were impressed with the beauty he had created inside and out. We had several dinners together there and at our cabin. I send my love and sympathy to the whole family.
