Margaret Brannon Smith

I met Dave in the mid eighties, when he delivered a contract from the US Department of Labor to the Georgia Department of Labor where I was employed. Later, I married Don Brannon who worked with and was a good friend of Dave's. I stayed in touch with Dave a few years after both my husband, Don, and Dave's wife, Ann died, but haven't been in touch with him the last few years, so wasn't aware of his stroke and illness. Enjoyed stopping by his house in Marietta with him showing off his latest woodworking project. His laugh was infectious . . . I'll always hear it in my memory. So nice to know that he and Don have also been reunited in heaven.

Uncle David O. Stegall is sorely missed by his extended family. He was the youngest of eleven children. At the age of 88, Uncle David was preceded by his father Albert Hood Stegall and his mother Tisdale McMurray Stegall and his ten brothers and sisters. One of his brother's was my father Albert Houston Stegall who was very proud of his youngest brother David. In my father's final years he talked to me several times about his brother and told me of the pranks they pulled off as kids.
Uncle David's many nephews and nieces were and are very proud of our Uncle
He was a happy man and made people around him happy also.
As one of his nephews I will miss him.
Unfortunately I'm not able to travel to Kingston to say my goodbye in person. I'll miss the many stories told about him and his family . . . my loss.
Uncle David you will be greatly missed but fondly remembered.
Your nephew, Albert Henry Stegall

I will always hold fond memories in my heart of Dave Stegall. I knew him first as the husband of Ann, one of the members of our Women's Fellowship Board from Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, GA. He always wore a smile, and usually a funny story, or humorous line to follow most situations. My admiration grew for him as I watched him care for Ann in her last days on earth. He allowed the board the honor of coming to the house to stand around her bed and sing hymns to the God she worshiped. He loved her dearly, and was also loved in return. My heart is heavy, but I know that a glorious reunion awaits those who trust in the Lord!
