David Stevenson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 26, 2025.
David William Stevenson, 64, passed away on February 21, 2025, in Florence, Kentucky. He was born on September 20, 1960, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

As a young child, his family relocated to Anahuac, Texas where he grew up.

David had a strong work ethic from an early age. As a teenager, he worked as a flagger in the rice fields, signaling crop dusters as they sprayed the fields. In his prime, he took great pride in his work as a driller in the oil fields, embracing the challenges and demands of the job. Later in life, he transitioned into welding, applying his skills with precision and dedication.

Beyond his career, David found joy in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who appreciated the quiet moments spent in nature. His hands were rarely idle-he enjoyed woodworking and took pleasure in crafting benches and stepstools with care and craftsmanship.

David had a gift for storytelling and never met a stranger. He enjoyed making friends wherever he went, sharing tales that brought laughter and connection to those around him. His warmth and ability to engage others left lasting impressions on many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Roy Stevenson and Carol Orlena (Hunt) Stevenson, as well as his brother, Douglas Wilford Stevenson. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Shempert, and her husband, David Shempert, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

David's presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who shared in his life.
