Mr. David Paul "Dave" Striblen

I am overwhelmed, not only by my family's loss, but also all the kind words and support. I love my brother very dearly and not quite sure how not only my life and everyone elses in my family or anyone who loved him too will ever be the same without him. I will miss him hard. Thank you everyone for paying your respects.

The measure of a man is the memory he leaves behind. You, are a giant. It would be hard to find a man as kind, honest and caring as your were Dave. Rest In Peace

As I read all these condolences, there is one unmistakable common theme. Dave would do anything for anyone at any time. His loyalty was unflinching, his generosity overwhelming and his good nature undying. A remarkable man - Super Dave! I can only hope that I was half as good a friend to him as he was to me. One day, I think in 1978, he called me up and asked what I was doing. I think "nothing" was my reply. Good! he said, with confidence, "then you're going to be my best man". I am pretty sure that's how it went down and he came and got me for his wedding to Dorothy. Over the years, Dave came in and out of my life, but that day was the beginning of something exceptional for me. Once about 2003, I needed help wiring my mom's basement that I was remodeling. I called Dave and he drove down to Indianapolis. When we finished at like 10:30 at night, my mom gave him a big hug to say thanks. Dave couldn't believe it, he was in tears. He refused to let me pay him. He said mom's hug was payment enough. My mom and Dave shared the same birthday. If there is anything that has shaped my ideal of how I believe I should be as a friend, it has been Dave Striblen. See you soon Brother. Be Well!

It was midnight. I was in labor and had a year old baby and no one to get my babysitter over to watch her. I called Dave. He didnt answer hello. He answered what do you need? He drove my 75 year old babysitter to my house doing 80 down Milwaukee. I owe the safe birth of my son in a hospital to Dave. You cant count on many people in life, but I could count on him. My world is an emptier place now.

Dave was always a great person -always there to help and there was not a thing he did not know something about and if he did not he would educate himself on the spot to find out-he helped me out with a lot of projects I am sorry for his loss for the Family may God Bless him I really liked Dave!

My sincere condolences to the Striblin family! I'm especially sad for Dave's kids in losing another parent way too soon. I haven't seen Dave recently but I remember the last time I saw him and how beamed with pride in speaking about his adult children. Love, hugs, and prayers.
