David Stroup Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 24 to Apr. 26, 2023.
David M. "Dave" Stroup, 72, of Belleville, passed away Sunday April 16th 2023, peacefully in bed at his residence.

Born January 18th 1951 in Belleville, he was the son of the late Jack Klepfer Stroup and M. Arlene (Bartlett)

Dave is survived by his sister, Linda K. Moretti (Stroup) and husband Robert A. Moretti, of Belleville, as well as children Jebidiah David Steven Stroup and partner Rachel Foust of Belleville, Jackson Dylan Stroup, and Davenia Michele Stroup and partner Derek Powers of Belleville. He is also survived by his only granddaughter, Harlow Jade Stroup, whom he adored and spent a great deal of time with in his final years.

Dave was a graduate of Kish High School, class of 1968, before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1969. He served one term before being honorably discharged in 1973. He then began a lifelong career at New Holland in Belleville, before retiring.

Dave loved all music, watching sports and spending time outdoors. He used to enjoy hunting, teaching both his sons about "what happens at camp". One of his favorite places was Camp Belle-Green, where his father was a founding member. He served as acting caretaker of the cabin for several years, spending time with family and friends around the fire. He enjoyed spending his retirement years with his children and granddaughter, who will all miss him greatly.

His services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorial may be made to the Stroup/Alexander VFW, Post 5935, 4138 East Main Street, Belleville, PA 17004.
