As an active Ky Winter camper I always enjoyed talking with Dave around the camp fire. I have some great memories of Dave and he will surely be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Talbott family.

My husband and I enjoyed many, many weekends at Pumpkin Bottom in the Gorge. We always counted on David to be there, and he always visited with us while we camped, along with his dog. We enjoyed talking with him, and we both wish we had asked to see some of his photographs. We will miss him, and hope that his beautiful spot on Red River will forever be a place of peace and enjoyment for those who pass through.

Never a more pure heart have I ever met on this road called Life. David had insight to it. He told me he once met Jesus, while in a coma, I believed him, David was VERY spiritual. He had such talent, just look at his photographs, you will see it. I am so blessed to have been close to him for a short while. I have an Angel waiting on me. "Come in", she said,I'll give you shelter from the storm"

My sincere sympathy to David's children and grandchildren and to his many friends who will miss him. Though he was my friend many years ago I will always recall his joy, wit and wisdom. He had a great appreciation for life. Rest in loving peace, David.

I was very saddened to see that David has passed from this life. David touched my life many years ago and changed it in knowing him. He had a big heart and gave a lot of himself to others. I knew him to be a man of faith, who had great love for his children, art, theatre, music, nature, horses, and dogs. I had not talked to David in years but when hiking at the Gorge a few years back, my husband and I stopped by to say hello. David was sitting on his porch when we arrived, and after talking with him, I knew he had found peace in living this simple life. I am lucky enough to have pictures of my children that David took years ago hanging on my wall. They are a daily reminder of what a gifted and unique individual he was.

A true talent is gone. He used to say, " I have eyes that see." If you have any of his work, you are blessed. He loved Bob Dylan and Billie Holiday and Seascape music. My life was surely changed for having known him. He told stories that were captivating and he was a very spiritual man. He loved his wife and his children, but knew he had other purposes in life as well. We were friends, born on the same day. I will forever remember you David.

I met David as a customer when I worked at Citizens Fidelity Bank in the early 70's.....first at Chenoweth Plaza and later at Prospect Point. He was such a wonderful person and his departure from this earth will make my framed photograph of the City of Louisville more special to me.
God surely needed a great photographer and chose the best.

I met Dave over 17 yrs ago via Bill Watson, and have seen Dave at winter camp most years since then.
I experienced Dave as a man of faith and spirituality over the years. He was certainly loved and will be missed. Please accept my condolences and those of the Kentucky Winter Camp Out group (KYWCO).

My heart and prayers will be with David's family during this time, but especially with Ashley, Michael, and Jason. David was such a big part of my life. He showed me kindness without question and despite some turbulent times, he taught me to have faith and persevere. He will be greatly missed. I wouldn't be who I am without David. I know that he is with God now, and I am happy, but still sad that he is not with US.
