I just found out my beloved ID program director passed away. He was the kindest mentor one could have had. I enjoyed my fellowship years not only because I learned so much during those 2 years, but also because he taught us how it is to be a caring physician and human being. Laura and Jennifer, your Dad used to bring you to the VA hospital, you were so little then. I had been meaning to get in touch with him but never got the time to do so. I wish I could have told him I credit him for making me the physician I am today. Rest in peace our dear Dr Wagner.

I just learned of David's passing. It seems like there's now a void in our world which he used to inhabit. We learned to play drums together in grade school and did so all the way through high school. It was through that bond I got to witness David's thoughtfulness and actions. As I recall, David bought my first drum set when I decided to sell it. I felt it would have a good home. When David told me he'd become a doctor I was only surprised for a moment. He was a smart and compassionate person, so it seemed a good fit. I'm thankful for all the lives David was able to touch and make better. My condolences to his loved ones.
