DAVID WALDA Obituary

DAVID WALDA SR., 67, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015, in Florida. Born in Fort Wayne, David graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School. He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran. David served his community for 20 years as a police officer with the Fort Wayne Police Department, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Aboite Lutheran Church. David enjoyed his time living in Florida. His other hobbies included; golfing, coaching softball, and cheering for the Chicago Bears. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Terri Walda of Fla.; children, David Jr. of Fort Wayne and Samantha Walda of Woodburn; eight grandchildren; and two sisters. Memorial service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Aboite Lutheran Church, 10312 Aboite Center Road, with calling from 11 a.m. until the service. To view guestbook, visit www.domccombandsons.com

So sorry for your loss. David was my first cousin on my mother's side. She and Doris were sisters. I hadn't seen David but a few times since we all grew up. Fond memories of the family. You are the rest of his family are in my thoughts and prayers.
