To the Waters Family, Marion, David and Leslie, Clay, Lansdon, Andrew, Nicole, What a lovely obituary of your husband, Marion and father David. What an indelible memory Tom and I have after having met him just once. We sensed his special contribution to this world then. The obituary reflects all the wonderful moments in his life. What a memory you all must have of him as a husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. May those memories help you find peace in his passing.
Fondly,
Tom and Karen Frinzi

I will never forget my teenage trip to Pawleys Island and staying at your mom and dad´s house. I remember the wooden floors, the silky sand ...and your father´s welcoming, warm brown eyes.
My heart breaks all over again, as we both endure the inevitable passage of...life.
I celebrate your sweet father, while uplifting you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Kane

Our condolences to Marion, David III, Beth, Eloise and to their families on Dave's passing. He lived a long, loving, successful, happy, blessed and meaningful life.
As you go through life, it is rare to find people who you respect from a professional and personal perspective who take the time and make the effort to change your life in positive ways that you never imagined were possible.
Dave Waters was one of those people who did that for me and my family.
I will miss him dearly. We remained friends long after he retired as we would banter back and forth mostly on topics related to sports and UNC where my brother played baseball and occasionally went to class in the 70's.
I have so many fond memories of working for and with Dave. The best is when he retired. We went to lunch and I presented him with a signed baseball from Ted Williams who was Dave's idol. The look on his face was priceless. I hope the family has preserved that memento and that it stays in the Waters family as a symbol of how much their husband, Dad, granddad and great granddad was loved and respected.
With love and sympathy.
