So very sad to read this news. I worked with David in the National Archives Records Management and Appraisal Division, on the same team. I knew he had a good long career with NARA, and during our work together, he displayed a great work ethic, and a high degree of competence. He was a gentleman through and through, soft spoken and kind. I looked up to him.
My Deepest Condolences. God Bless.

David was a family man and a real upstanding guy. David was a positive presence in many of our lives. He will be greatly missed but his place in his families memory and his influence on the wonderful people his kids have grown to become, speaks volumes as to the virtue and fullness of the life he lived.

For me, I remember fondly a very precious snow day and of sledding with David and my father and our families together. But I always regarded David as particularly warm and friendly amongst my friend´s fathers´, with a surprisingly good taste in music a connections to this far off place called "Chicago". I know the incredible love he had for his family and the matching love his family had for him. I´ll miss him and honor his memory every time I wear the "National Records Department Employee of the Month 1985" t-shirt he gave me (to my absolute delight) when I was a kid. I still feel quite scholarly and slightly above any and all suspicion when I wear it.
