David Weiler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 27 to Nov. 6, 2022.
David Bruce Weiler, 71, of Bloomington and formerly of South Bend passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 in Bloomington, Indiana. He was born on February 15, 1951 the son of John Anthony and Barbara Jeanne (Moon) Weiler.

Dave worked at the Bloomington Hospital for over thirty years as a Lab Tech. He always took great pride in knowing he was helping people with his work. Known to many in the hospital as "Bloodbank Dave" it was a nickname he was proud of and because of his wonderful outgoing personality, he was also known as the ambassador of the lab.

One of Dave's greatest loves was that of music, he loved playing his drums to the beat of the blues, but would jam to any kind of music. He loved going to concerts to hear his favorite bands play live. He also had a great love of all sports, including his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Chicago Cubs, Da bears, and all things IU. Dave rarely forgot a birthday or anniversary. Always being sure to send cards often with a special note.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Cheri (McGuire) Tieman of Bloomington: his sister Elizabeth Wharton husband Michael; nieces, Kristina Wharton; Nicole Wharton-Dailey husband Mike all of South Bend; his daughter Jonica Weiler Standridge; grandkids, Jordan and William Standridge all of Georgia. His special extended family, Jerrad Tieman wife Amanda; granddaughter, Bailee Tieman all of Owensburg, Indiana; and a grandson, Bryce Tieman currently of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Barbara Weiler; a brother Douglas Bryan Weiler; and Infant Son, Matthew David Weiler.
