WRIGHT, David Allan
January 6, 1953 – Toronto, Ontario
November 23, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta
David "Dave" Allan Wright beloved husband of Sue Christensen of Calgary, AB, passed away on November 23, 2016 at the age of 63 years. Dave, the oldest of three sons, was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Thomas and Patricia Wright. Dave received his Bachelor of Env. Sci. Degree from the University of Toronto. He bravely headed west on his own in 1981, eventually settling in Calgary, Alberta where he joined Core Laboratories Ltd. Dave's career path continued through various avenues and opportunities including an employee of Petro-Canada in several capacities, VP/CFO of Rider Resources Inc., co-owner of Island Experience (Calgary's first Caribbean restaurant) and professional computer trainer/educator for various computer training centers throughout Calgary as well as at Foothills Academy. Dave was Corporate Liaison/Employment Coordinator with Calgary Immigrant Educational Society and supervisor with Calgary Park & Jet at the time of his passing. Dave took great pride in being a successful entrepreneur and educator as well as a level II tennis professional and avid golfer. He will always be remembered for his generous and kind heart, selfless and friendly nature, and genuine and engaging conversation. Dave's infectious personality will be fondly missed by all those who knew him. Although family, friends, food and sports were a big part of his life, he was most fulfilled by his devotion to his wife and daughters. Besides his wife of twenty-two years, Sue, Dave is survived by his two daughters, Madison and Lexi; his step-daughter, Kira. He will also be dearly missed by his mother Pat, his brothers Brian and wife Ingrid and Keith and wife Suzanne; his mother-in-law Mary; brothers-in-law George and wife Jane and Francis and wife Barb; and sister-in-law Shirley and husband Shawn; as well as his nieces Katrina and Elizabeth and nephews Justin and Christopher. Dave was predeceased by his father Thomas (Al) Wright and father-in-law Francis (Frank) Konrad. A Service of Remembrance will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If so desired, donations may be made in Dave's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association. In living memory of Dave Wright, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I am so sorry to hear of this sad loss... I have fond memories of Dave and our conversations about family, teaching, and life! He was often saying, "It's all about the kids." He was kind and gentle in the most generous of ways, and talked adoringly of his family. I value our time as colleagues - Dave was always so positive! Sue - I am thinking of you and your daughters at this most difficult time...

I was heartbroken to hear about Mr. Wrights passing. He was one of my favourite teachers at Foothills Academy. He was the reason that I originally pursued a career in computing before finding my true calling of construction. However I have numerous fond memories especially his speech about me at my grade 12 graduation. He will be sorely missed.

I worked with David for 5 years at Calgary Park and Jet. He started out as our Maintenance person and then went in to a Supervisor. I will always remember how happy he was no matter what was going on. He was always willing to help you and never complained. I will miss him dearly he was such a nice and thoughtful man
