David Walter Zieman

April 18, 1945 - March 2, 2023

David Walter Zieman, 77, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home in Whitehouse, Ohio. Dave was born April 18, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, to Walter and Virginia Zieman. He was a lifelong native of Perrysburg, Ohio, and a 1963 graduate of Perrysburg High school. Jeep is where he worked for 44 years and retired as Senior Industrial Engineer. On October 24th, 1965, Dave married his loving wife, Judy. They raised their three loving sons, David, Richard and Todd.

Dave played baseball and football during his high school years at Perrysburg. Lakeside vacations with Judy and his young sons is how many summers were spent. He enjoyed watching his sons play sports throughout their school years. Dave also coached youth basketball at St. Rose. For many years he played slow pitch softball with various local teams. He loved Judy's cooking and baking, especially the sweets, "a little too much", she always said. Dave was an avid Ohio State Buckeye's fan. In his retired years vacationing in Florida with Judy, watching old time black and white movies, and keeping up with sports were some of the activities he looked forward to. Dave cherished spending time with his brother at various sporting events and the breakfast and lunch get-togethers with longtime friends and Jeep retirees. Spending time with his grandkids is what he loved to do the most.

Dave loved to chat about the history of Perrysburg. He talked about where everyone lived when he was growing up and often reminisced about all the old hometown businesses located in Perrysburg at that time. He loved Perrysburg football and was a member of St. Rose church.

Dave was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend. He will be dearly missed. Surviving is his brother, Michael Zieman; sons, David Timothy (Helen) and Todd Walter (Lisa); grandchildren, Jake, Jonas, Oliver and Olivia. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by sister, Letitia; loving wife, Judy; and son, Richard Zieman.

Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon. Services will begin immediately following the visitation. Interment, St. Rose Cemetery in Perrysburg. Online condolences may be shared at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
