David Zynda

David Patrick Zynda

David Patrick Zynda, age 69, passed away gracefully among family and friends on September 29, 2016.  A Lansing native and MSU graduate, he was an adventurous and congenial spirit, who considered Costa Rica and Paris as second homes.  In addition to staunchly rooting for the Spartans, he enjoyed observing nature, especially in northern Michigan and southern Africa.  

A third generation road builder, David partnered with his cousin, Donald "Butch" Davidson, to found and operate Kelcris Corporation, which contracted with the Michigan Department of Transportation to build and repair roads and bridges.  In that role, not only did he secure countless jobs and oversee the management of road crews, but he also developed relationships with business associates and other industry colleagues, culminating in his serving as the President of the Michigan Road Builders' Association. 

Cherished father of Tarra Zynda, Leigh Zynda Cuesta and David Cuesta; devoted grandfather of Sebastian and Elliot Cuesta; beloved brother of Michael and Sandra Zynda, Steven and Debra Zynda, and James Zynda; dear uncle of Adam, Nicole, and Andrea Zynda; and former spouse of, Jane Hildebrand, David will be sorely missed.  David was preceded in death by his son, Alexander Zynda; father, Andrew Zynda; and his mother, Virginia Zynda.
