Dawn Korch Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM, Friday, May 22, 2015 at the mortuary. Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded following services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family or online at www.gofundme.com/vd5k4cs. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Dawn was born on October 29, 1977 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Bruce and Nancy (Ortiz) Korch. Dawn was very family oriented and loved her children dearly. She enjoyed spending free time with her family and being outdoors. She started high school in Burlington and later graduated from Ft. Madison High School in 1996. She was a Load Planner at TanTara Transportation Corporation in Muscatine. Dawn was a beautiful person inside and out, with a big heart and would help anyone in their time of need. She also enjoyed supporting breast cancer research. She was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest. Dawn was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Those left to honor her memory include, children Austin Payne, Muscatine, and Alexis Limmer, Atlanta, GA; parents Bruce and Nancy Korch, Davenport; siblings Chad (Holly) Korch, Las Vegas, NV, Luke Korch, Davenport, Schuy (Rachel Tilkens) Korch, Davenport; and three nephews Carter and Cooper Korch, Las Vegas, NV, and Claydon Korch, Davenport. Dawn was preceded in death by her grandparents and boyfriend, Kevin Diehl.

I would like to say to the family's of both Kevin and Dawn you will always be in my thoughts. I new Dawn when I worked with her at ad com she was always full of laughter and love she was always there to help others as well a great friend. even if you didn't know her. she will be missed and I know she was always talked about how proud she was of her son playing basketball she was a great mom and we owe it all to you Dawn for being such a wonderful person, mother, and friend .

When the news broke of this tragedy we were all in shock and disbelief. It's never easy losing a friend, loved one, child, mother, sister, family member...but when they are so young you ask yourself, why...We lost my brother when he was 21 in an auto accident in Lyndon township in 1993 the day after New Years. He was the only child of my parents they had late in life so it was totally devastating for them and for the whole family. The way we have carried on is to keep our faith in God and knowing the fact that we will all see each other in Heaven again one day keeps us able to hold it together, its never goodbye, its always I will see you later. God bless!

I met you way back in middle school and crossed paths with you many times throughout different periods of our lives. I will never forget the fun times we had together, especially celebrating turning 21 together at Vic Ferraris. You were a sweet girl with such a funny laugh that I will always remember. You my dear were a beautiful woman inside & out. I am so glad I got the chance for your little feet to cross my path in life. You and I talked constantly how identical our lives had been and just like me you found your true love late in life like I did. I knew you would get a chance to feel it. I just wish you had more time to enjoy it. You have the most beautiful kids and they have your heart. They will do great in life. Look over them and be the guardian angel in the after life that you were while you were here. I close my eyes to remember and I picture you running around the office in a race against Tressa, flip flops flying everywhere! I lost you as my work out partner but never understood why you were going to the gym anyway lol. You were the sunshine to many peoples days! You will be missed and one day again we will dance, we will laugh, we will share a huge hug! Head up and just know there are a lot of people that will look out for your "kiddos".
