I met Deacon Welsh when helped with the Residents Encounter Christ retreat at the prison. He had the love of Jesus in his heart and wanted to share that love with others. May he rest in peace.

I have so many memories of the Welsh family - from playing Uno on Sunday afternoons to being with them every weekend at the Cathedral. I remember well his Ordination, and how Catherine has supported him step by step through all of his studies and work, and certainly through his illness. My prayers are with all of you.

My heart goes out to Catherine, my cousins, and to everyone who loved him. Steve and his brothers and sister are together again in heaven. "So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage" 2 Corinthians 5:6-7

To Catherine and all of Steve's family, we extend heartfelt sympathy and assurance of our prayers. We got to know Steve when he and Catherine were in the diocese New Wine Program with David. Steve was a fine gentleman and devoted Catholic. May Our Lord grant him now eternal rest and peace in heaven.
