I grew up across Locust Street from Dean, who lived a few doors down from my other good friend, Mike Haney. I have good memories of Dean and know that in later years when we had moved away from Lodi, that he either lived or had kids across from my parents houise on Lakehome Drive. I always admired Dean for his strength and ready smile. He will be missed, as he was one of the Class of '60 that chose to stay in Lodi. May God bless his family with peace and comfort as they treasure memories together.

I just heard of Dean's passing. Prayers and strength sent to the entire family. Dean was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I always enjoyed running into him around town and catting a bit. He was one of the good ones.

So sorry to learn of Dean's passing. It brought back sweet memories of the fun my husband, Bill Reinold, and Dean had on the sidelines of youth sporting events. We moved to Lodi in the early '80's. and there was nobody more welcoming than Dean. His ready laugh and big smile brightened many a day. How he will be missed. I loved the Winnie the Pooh quote in an earlier message. So true. You are blest! Many are reaching out to your family in love and prayers.

Sharon I am so sorry for your loss and so happy that I got to know you both and visit you. Dean was so much like Chris and I know they are in heaven sharing stories. Where there is grief there was great love and I know you had that but to paraphrase Winnie the Pooh, "How lucky are we to have something that makes saying good bye so hard" God Bless you and your family.

My first encounter with Dean was in 1958 when I was 10 or 11; Dean would have been 16 or 17. I lived a few blocks from the East Campus high school, and in late summer, varsity football practice would start in the middle of 100+ degree afternoons. I would walk a few blocks from my home to the East Campus in the afternoon and watch the team go through their exercises and drills under the very skilled and demanding Head Coach, John Giannoni.
As the team worked out with drills and exercises in the intense heat, I was amazed by what the coaching staff was demanding of the players and the willingness of the players to put up with it day after day through the scorching month of August.
As a young boy, I was greatly impressed by the entire team and coaching staff, But, the player that stood out and caught my attention was Dean. He not only put up with the extreme demands of the game but seemed to be enjoying it, and enthusiastically seeking more. He obviously had a physical disability, but Dean, treated it as an asset to intimidate anyone that might question his ability or dedication to the team and game.

Dean was a great conversationalist and also a good listener. Dedicated, skilled Cherry Farmer.
He loved his Grandsons Chase & Carson. He & Sharon hardly ever missed a ballgame with them.
I was thrilled when Daughter Kelli, dated and married John Devine making me not only his graduating classmate of 1960 and friend, but now part of this awesome family!
The world has lost a prince of a man, father to John & Cindy, Grandfather (Pop's) to Chase & Carson, husband to Sharon, Father-in-law to Kelli & one great human being.
You will be missed, my friend!

Dear John, Kelli and Chase and Carson: I was saddened to hear of your dad's, father-in-love's and grandfather's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Dean several times over the years and he was always so down to earth. I sincerely hope that the sadness you are having now is soon replaced with all the loving memories of your life together as a family. Hugs, Marta Paras
