Dean Dillard Key age 71, of Maryville, TN, and longtime resident of Athens, TN, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 from injuries sustained in a car accident. She is preceded in death by her Father, Wilburn Dillard. Dean worked for 1st National Bank and Trust and BB&T for 38 years and was an active member in Financial Women's Association, Special Olympics, Civitan, the Mountain Laurel Garden Club and she received great joy in being part of the Dark Island and Timbercreek communities. She is survived by her Daughter, Sharon Key of Flowery Branch, GA; Daughter, Jennifer Key Karp, and husband Stephen Karp of Knoxville; Beloved pet Cinnamon; Mother, Violet Dillard; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Freda and Bill Wilson, Julia and Roger Brantley, and Connie and Greg Loy; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Ed and June Dillard, and Darrell and Susan Dillard all of Maryville; many beloved nieces and nephews, and all of her special friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Mike Parker officiating. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Caylor's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to: The Blount Co.
