Debbie Cobb Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 3, 2024.
Dallas - Debbie Virginia Cobb, age 62, entered Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 31, 2024. She passed away in Plano, TX, surrounded by her husband, children and siblings. We celebrate the beautiful, Christ-centered life our beloved wife, mother and sister lived.

Funeral services will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church Ellis Chapel in Dallas on Thursday, August 8th, at 2:00 p.m. with a graveside service following at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Debbie was born May 17, 1962, in Dallas, Texas, to Jesse and Lois Flores. Debbie's family soon moved to Abilene where she spent her childhood and graduated from Abilene High in 1980. While in high school, she was a class officer, tennis player, cheerleader, Miss AHS and crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year. She became a follower of Christ at an early age and began sharing the good news and love of Christ which she continued doing throughout her entire life.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Abilene Christian University. During her time at ACU, she made lifelong friends, was an active distance runner, tennis player, and a member of the Ko Jo Kai Women's Sorority. After graduation, she taught elementary school in both Dallas and Garland ISD. She loved teaching children as she had a passion for helping others learn and grow.

She married Ronald K. Cobb on April 23, 1994, at Park Cites Baptist Church Ellis Chapel in Dallas, and a few years later she gave birth to the joys of her life, Kimberly and John. She had such a zest for life: loving and serving her family and others constantly. Debbie had a way of making others feel seen and loved through her overflowing generosity and love. She was adored by all who knew her and lived a life of grace, humility, poise, elegance, generosity, kindness, prayer, servanthood and abundant love. A truly remarkable woman, Debbie was the hands and feet of Jesus, impacting the lives of everyone she knew.

Debbie worshipped at Gateway Church in Dallas and Frisco for the last 10 years where she was known as an inspiration of prayer and encouragement. She would often be at the front of the church after service to join in prayer for needs of family and friends as well for her battle with metastatic breast cancer. Her deep, vibrant relationship with God and her passion for his Word inspired her to read and memorize scripture as a way to know him even more.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ron and children, Kimberly Cobb and John Cobb. She is also survived by four siblings: Richard (Rose) Flores of Flower Mound, Manuel Flores of Frisco, Jacque (Todd) Knight of Fort Worth, and Arnold Flores of Las Colinas.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love, support and prayers throughout Debbie's seven-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. We are especially grateful to Dr. Thuy Le and her staff at Texas Oncology Plano.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckner International Orphanage in Dallas. www.buckner.org. Sparkman Funeral Home of Dallas is handling the funeral arrangements for the family.

We are so hurt to learn of Debbie´s passing. She was such a lovely person. We unfortunately only got to meet her through POPS basketball. We all enjoyed talking with Debbie during John and Jordan´s games. We will keep you all in our prayers and pray the Lord comforts you through what I can only imagine what must be a great loss for the family.
