In 1975 I was the "new" kid at Torrey Pines High School after moving from Seattle to Solana Beach. I can't remember the details but I do remember that Debbie was one of the first to befriend me at school. I'll always be grateful for how open she was to introducing me to her friends. I can still smell the salt air and see the little trailer by the beach. We had some good times that I'll always remember.

September 23, 2011

I only knew you for a short while Debbie but I feel as though I knew you forever. Your laughter, bright smile and vibrant personality will always be with us! You are a beautiful person and you will be missed! We love you!! Mary Beane (Esconddio, CA)

Hey girlfriend…

I still can’t believe you’re gone. I go to pick up the phone to call you…and realize you’re not there anymore to answer.
Not very many people are fortunate enough to experience a friendship like yours; honest, devoted, caring, loving, committed, hardworking, and a genuine person all around.

Meeting you back in the KSL days, I knew right away that I wanted you in my life and wanted you to be my friend.
Your energy, your laughter, your confidence, your friendly attitude… That was some good stuff you were made of, and an amazing gift you shared with those of us who were fortunate enough.

I moved to San Diego, next thing I know, you’re there, and fun times followed.
Then you moved back to the desert, next thing I know, I’m there again, and once again the fun continued.
Most recently I left again, and we would talk knowing we’d soon be spending more ‘girlfriend’ time together on the coast…discussing and looking forward to ‘new beginnings’.

You may have had challenges in your life, and regardless of that, you were always there for your family and for your friends. Someone people could count on and always willing to do whatever you could to be there…… Because that is who you are.

You have left a huge void in the lives of many who love you…
And I am very grateful and thankful for knowing you during the past 14 years, and for having the opportunity to understand and appreciate what ‘true friendship’ means. You taught me that.
So thank you for your friendship… but I would still have preferred you around for a lifetime…

I love you and I miss you Debbie.

LynLee and Kurt… Your mom was ‘one of a kind’. Very real and a true friend. You are so fortunate to have had her as your mom.

Debbie,
I still remember the day out by the pool when instead of hello you asked "do you babysit?" Haha! 25 years later, you and your beautiful kids are still a big part of our family. You truly knew how to always look at the brighter side of everything and your laugh was always wonderfully contagious! You will forever be missed and forever be in our hearts.

Debbie...I miss your beautiful smile and those messages you would always send me congratulating me on another successful party. You inspired me! You were at the very first Halloween party we hosted 27 years ago and you were always one of the first people I would call to get advice for where to have the next party! Mom...I got sad today thinking about you a lot today, as I plan the best Celebration of Life Party for you the way you always wanted and asked with SO many people who love you dearly! You touched so many of everyone's lives and especially mine, but seeing the effect you have had on so many makes me stronger to be able to be "Little Miss Debbie" and carry on through you! I am the only thing left and I can't wait to continue to grow on with life and make my family beautiful and successful for you, you are OUR biggest Angel now! We will continue to live life the best way I was raised to just be "ME" and live life one day at a time. I will never forget you, your with me every day Mommy, on my necklace, in my house, in the sky, at all times...your with me! The kids love and miss you too Gramma so much and ask about you lots, you we're the BEST GRAMMA I possibly know and Trey will shine in life for you, FOREVER! I want an easy life now, and will do my best to create the easiest and best life possible for my kids and for you! Mom may you rest in peace and I am so glad you hugged me that day in the kitchen before you left and cried and told me how much you loved me and that you get sad every time you leave me and the kiddos because you just never know! You truly are amazing and a star that will always shine in my life. At the end of the day no one is perfect and you always made sure to show your confidence and pride in life! I will always be you...love you more then words can write...cause I could go on forever...oxxoxoxoxoxo please watch over us, forever!
So blessed too you we're here on this earth to meet your last grandbaby Shane, he will never know you personally but I will make sure he never forgets you!

Debbie had a wonderful gift of making those around her feel happy from her mere entering a room. She brought joy to those of us that knew her and cherished her friendship and shared her laughter. You are in my thoughts and Debbie will remain in my heart always.
