Cracker Barrel! Debby and I worked together at Ameristar Casino in Kansas City. I was a banker and I had just received a promotion to Supervisor. I wasn't even sure I was going to apply for the promotion, but Debby had talked me into it, or gave me the final push I needed to get the guts to do it. She was the first to congratulate me, too. The morning when we got off work (we worked night shift), she insisted on taking me out for a celebratory breakfast. We went to Cracker Barrel. I hadn't eaten there in years prior. And it has been years since I have eaten there again. But every time I pass it, I have always said to my son, or whomever I was with, that is where my friend Debby took me to celebrate. Shortly after that, Debby didn't work at Ameristar anymore, and I had kearned she moved back to Florida. It has been 13 years since that breakfast. It may not mean much to many people. But to me, it was her kindness and believing in me that I will always cherish. Debby, you are so missed and always loved. I wish I had gotten the opportunity to come see you in Florida. But I will see you again walking with angels, and I can't wait to meet your John when we reunite. The next breakfast is on me!

Mom was a wonderful woman with a beautiful soul. She had endless amounts of selfless love and laughter to give. She taught that to us and our children. She may not be with us anymore but she will never be forgotten! Love You Mom!!!

At a staff meeting, Gil Mock must have had a dozen direct reports, but with every issue, Debby was involved with the answer. She was on the ball, and I respected her very much. She was an inspired leader!

John, Deb, Vic and I went out dancing one night. When John was danced out she just got up and danced with herself. She loved life and brought so much happiness to those around her. I´ve included a pic I came across of her and John. Loved them both.

Valarie, I’m saddened to hear of your mommas passing. There are no words that can be said to lessen the pain of loosing a loved one. But what I do know is this. God never said that we would taste the bitter kiss of death. He said HE is waiting on the other side for us. This is his promise to each of us. We may not always understand while we are here but I believe that we will one day when we enter into our heavenly home. I love you and am praying for each of you during this time of sorrow and uncertainty.

Debby did like to sing. I remember doing a duet with her at Bianca´s wedding reception. She was a lot of fun to hang out with.
I was so happy to be included in her vows to John. It was wonderful seeing her so happy and so in love.

The first time I met Debby was when I went from Sprint to United and was in a new hire orientation speaking my mind about transitioning. During the break she came up to me and told me I had a lot of good ideas and asked some impressive questions. She told me she admired my outspokenness and then informed me she was my VP. From that day on we bonded and formed a great friendship. Debby you will be missed but you and your soulmate John are back together.

I'll never forget Debby, the mutual birthday celebrations we shared (we are 5 days apart), and all the time we spent together. Well done my friend, you have earned your reward.
