I think of Deborah often and our working relationship while at City College in Ft. Lauderdale. She was the best with students in the clinical setting. Keeping up with the students and clinical instructors. When I broke my knee cap, she picked me up everyday. She was a good good friend. When emailed each other in the middle of night. What was the coolest was we would talk via email for about an hour because we would both up at the same. I miss her and wish the best to her husband and two sons.

I was shocked to here about Deb's death as I just found out today. She was a former student and then a valued colleague and great friend. We continued to remain in touch via email and the occasionally phone call. I am very saddened by her death but know she is in a better place. May the Lord bless her husband and two sons. To Deborah's family, my sister Davida expressed it well. The Hicks family was our family. I was the younger of my sisters but wanted to follow behind Deborah and Sheila just the same and I of course we loved Ms. Ethel. May God bless you and give you comfort during your time of sadness.

When I heard about Deborah's death it hit me like a ton of bricks. I had not spoken with her since high school. Deborah was my childhood friend and I have nothing but fond memories of her. My grandparents lived across the street from the Hicks' home and I cannot begin to describe how much fun we had as children although we had to be home by the time the street lights came on! I know Deborah leaves behind many adoring family members and friends. I know with all my heart that you're going to miss her. As a young person she was bright, engaging, honest and funny and we talked each other under the table. After all this time, I feel blessed to have known her. To Deborah's husband, children and sister, Sheila, I extend my heartfelt sympathy and will keep your family in my prayers.

When I heard about Deborah's death it hit me like a ton of bricks. I had not spoken with her since high school. Deborah was my childhood friend and I have nothing but fond memories of her. We had a great time at the corners of Burroughs and 44th Sts in Savannah although her mother Miss Ethel and my grandparents made sure we were in the house by the time the street lights came on. I know Deborah leaves behind many adoring family members and friends. As a young person she was bright, engaging and funny and we talked each other under the table. After all this time, I feel blessed to have known her. To Deborah's husband, children and sister, Sheila, I extend my heartfelt sympathy and will keep your family in my prayers.
