While I never met her, I know her husband Kit, a good friend from outdoor school at OSU . I'm not surprised he would marry a wonderful, talented woman! Her smile radiates through her eyes. Sorry for your loss Kit. Tom Larson

Debbie Horrell was a classmate of mine at Camelback High School. I looked her up about seven years ago in Portland and really enjoyed our conversation. Her art is absolutely beautiful, and I am so sorry to hear about her death.

Dear Kit, Rae, Mark and family. Just heard of Debbie's passing thru friends who knew her at ASU. Repeatedly in my thoughts are the overwhelming number of times Debbie's mom (my neighbor Molly) praised with glowing pride her trio of children and their partners. Debbie's beautiful smile and presence will remain etched in my mind. A gifted ceramic bird is a constant source of my daily joy. Please know I sincerely share your feelings of loss.

May her name forever be a blessing. I first knew Deborah when she was one of my campers and then it finally dawned on us many years later at ASU where we met again in the clay department. The last time I saw her was about 14 years ago when I stopped to spend the afternoon as I wandered up the coast. Talented, kind, generous and funny Deborah shall always be in my dreams. Kit and I have been colleagues for nearly twenty years, so I had the privilege of running into and engaging in thoughtful conversation with Deborah at art showings, non-profit events and dinners. Her warm, sincere smile lit up the room, issuing an invitation to all to be her friend. Deborah was always positive, always thoughtful and an extraordinary artist. Thoughts and best wishes are with you Kit in the days and months ahead. She was an amazing and exemplary human being.

I had the privilege of knowing Deborah in a professional way and remember with pleasure her enthusiasm for life and her love of her family. Her death is a loss to her loved ones, to the art community, and to all who knew her. My deep sympathy to all who had the fortune to know her.
