Deborah Larson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 3, 2018.
Deborah A. Larson, age 65 met her Savior on April 27, 2018 at her home in Zumbrota. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Eric Westlake officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Deborah was born to Lloyd and Maxine (Welle) Mikel in Redwood Falls, MN on March 25, 1953.

She married her high school sweetheart, Marlow "Pete" Larson on February 10, 1973. During this time they worked together at her father's grocery store and had two sons. In 1987 they moved to Red Wing, MN. While in Red Wing, they owned and operated Burnside Bottle Liquor Store. After selling the business, Deb worked at Jostens in the human resource department. In 2001 they purchased the liquor store in Zumbrota and in 2003 they purchased the laundromat. Pete passed away suddenly on April 4, 2006 and Deb continued to operate the businesses. In 2015 she retired with her loving companion, Mark Hovel.

Deb enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, crafts, gardening and spending time with her daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Madalyn, Abigail and Lydia.

Deborah is survived by her mother, Maxine; two sons, Dustin and Joshua (Holly); three granddaughters, Madalyn, Abigail and Lydia and siblings, Doug, Diane, Cindy, Steve and Jim.

Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her father, Lloyd and her loving sister, Mary Jo.

The family suggests memorials to donor's choice.

May she rest in peace with God her father for all eternity. May we all join her in heaven someday.

I knew Deb for a very short time when she was in Indiana in the mid 1980´s. She was a vibrant, passionate, loving lady who was so easy to know and care about. I just recently heard of her passing. I´m so sorry and sorry I never got to spend time with her after she left Indiana.
