Deborah E. Mahaffy

Deborah E. Mahaffy, age 49, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away at Saginaw Covenant Cooper on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017. She was born in Owosso, Michigan on March 27, 1967 the daughter of Gerald and Sharon (Hathon) Smith.
On June 12, 1993, she was united in marriage to her true love, Michael C. Mahaffy in Gladwin, Michigan. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1993, and was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was the office manager for the Sugar Springs P.O.A., current treasurer of the Gladwin County Republican Party, as well as co-owner of Rule's Lawn Service.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband of 23 years, Michael Mahaffy of Gladwin; parents, Gerald and Sharon Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; brothers, Daniel (Amy) Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and Donald Smith of Williamston, Michigan; grandmother, Ethel Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; in-laws, Lyle and Ruth Mahaffy of Gladwin; brother-in-law, Steve (Terri) Mahaffy of West Branch, Michigan; multiple nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her twin sons, Jacob and Joshua Mahaffy.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Scott Bradstreet on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, 12 p.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Gladwin, Michigan. The family received friends on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, from 2-8 p.m. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan. She was laid to rest at Butman Township Cemetery, Gladwin, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Gladwin, Michigan.
