Deborah Rose Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 30, 2025.
Deborah Jean Rose, 78, died Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Santa Maria Hospital Nursing Facility in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Emilie L. (Andrews) Rose and Louis E. Rose, Jr. Debbie was born in Somerville on December 31, 1946, and lived there until 1981 when she moved permanently to Wareham where she had summered for most of her life.

Debbie worked for McKesson Liquors and the US Department of Defense before transferring to the Department of Agriculture where she served as an inspector in the School Lunch Program until she retired.

Debbie, an only child, grew up close to her cousins: Tony, Margie, Mary Catherine, Judy and Danny, especially because she shared her beloved Beach House with them every year of their childhood for the entire summer. Debbie relished her role as Aunt to her Godson, Brendan and to Jamie, Robby, Caitlin, Sarah, J.P. Meghan, Anthony, Tim, Jayne and Annie, and welcomed a new generation of sixteen great nieces and nephews.

Debbie is also survived by her beloved friend, Maurice, and her cousins: Francis, Louis, and Susan.

She was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Parish in Wareham. She will be missed by her fellow parishioners and Fr. Dan, the Pastor.

Debbie's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of Santa Maria Nursing Facility for their extraordinary love and care they consistently showed to Debbie for the five years during which she lived there.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, ARLINGTON on Saturday, February 8th from 10am-11am. A Prayer Service will immediately follow in the funeral home at 11am. Burial to conclude in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.

I am so sorry to hear of Deb´s passing. Her Mom Emilie volunteered in my second grade classroom for many years. Debbie would buy treats and supplies for the students every year. When her Mom could no longer volunteer and Deb had retired, she continued the legacy of sharing her time and kindness to the students and staff at the school. Her contribution to the students in Wareham will not be forgotten. Rest in peace.
