Deborah Simonson Obituary
Born on January 12, 1962 in Dover, NJ, Debbie grew up in Kinnelon, and raised her family in Wanaque where she built a life full of deep connections, laughter, and unwavering love. As someone who loved making new friends, Debbie's work always involved working with the public; Most recently, she worked as a utility collector for the Borough of Butler. She was the embodiment of strength and compassion - a woman whose optimism never faltered, no matter the challenges she faced.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Simonson; her loving children, Shalor (Cristos) Dimitriou, Ricky (Chelsea) Simonson, and CJ Simonson; and her grandson and pride and joy, Liam Simonson. She also leaves behind her sister Laurie Landry-Jackson, brother Kenny Decker, and her extended family: mother-in-law Nancy Vermeulen; Uncle Edward (Lilly) LaBell, Aunt Theresa LaBell, Aunt Marie Landry; Aunt Lori LaBell, brother-in-law Randy (Renate) Simonson; sisters-in-law Ruth (Preston) Neal and Raimee (Edward) Ball; along with many adored cousins, nephews, and a niece.
She was predeceased by her father Richard Landry and her beloved mother Sharon (Ken) Decker, as well as several treasured aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Debbie's greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. Her heart was boundless, her laughter infectious, and her presence a source of comfort and peace. She built a beautiful community of friends - many of whom became like family - whose love and support meant everything to her.
Her legacy of resilience, warmth, and unwavering love will forever be carried in the hearts of those who knew her. Her spirit and laughter will live on in our memories, bringing us comfort until we meet again.
A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared soon with loved ones once arrangements are finalized.

Debbie you made work fun. You lived next door to the deli and could always count on you being there. You walked through the door and told me that after your chemotherapy my roast beef was all you could eat. Shortly after that I hired you. Best hire ever. We shared many laughs. You were an amazing person and I will miss being able to catch up and talk with you. I remember you picking CJ up from kindergarten and coming back to work. He gave us lots of laughs. I know how proud you were of your family and how much you loved them. I hope that love and memories helps them get through this. You will always be loved and missed greatly.
