Deborah was born April 17, 1948, the first of five children to Robert F. and Betty Lou (Maloney) Tinberg.

Deborah attended Meadow Lane Elementary School from kindergarten through the eighth grade, Olathe Junior High School for the ninth grade and then graduated from Olathe High School, class of 1967. She then went on to attend Avila College where she obtained her BS degree in social work and a master's degree in psychology. Later, she also earned a master's degree in social work at the University of Missouri. She was employed for thirty plus years as a social worker/psychologist. Deborah was a free spirit who was steadfast in her faith and enjoyed life to the fullest. Her life took her on many wonderful adventures. She loved everything from continuing her education to music and belly dancing. But being a wife, mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, great grandmother, and friend were truly her cherished joys in life.

She is survived by a daughter, Gina Edmondson-Wilson of West Des Moines, IA; her fiancé Bruce Anderson; two sisters, Tamela (Tim) Clopton of Olathe, Sheri (William) Shippee of Mt. Juliet, TN; and one brother, Robert K. (Debby) Tinberg of Lenexa; four grandchildren, Michaela Cross, Gabriel Sowell, Valencia Mercer and Greyson Mercer; one great granddaughter, Taani Chugh-Cross, plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Throughout her life, Deborah supported the mission of protecting the lives of adults, children and their pets who needed emergency shelter to escape life-threatening domestic abuse. So sorry to hear of Debbie's illness and her death. We had spoken a few months before. We were friends since Jr. and high school. She was one of my brides maids at my wedding in 1966 and I was one of her brides maids. We got together at our class reunions and exchanged Christmas letters. We spoke on the phone and planned to see each other when I get back to Olathe later this year. She was a beautiful person inside and out. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I miss you every day. I miss you for the days that haven't happened yet, as well. Last night I was laughing and suddenly realized I sound just like you when I laugh, and that made me want to laugh more often, just to have that moment. I hope you're disco dancing up there with The BeeGees, who've also earned their wings.
