Debra Anne MILLER

First, my sincerest condolences to Chris and Debra's family. We are all so stunned and saddened by the loss of Debra. I'm having this memory of us all enjoying refreshments in the kitchen after a holiday recital and... well I just don't know what to say. McKenzie had lessons with Debra but it was Derek, a former Rio Americano Jazz band vibraphonist and current Willamette U music composition major whose foundations as a musician all began with his early years in Debra's studio. The lessons were not always easy but Debra had the courage to push and challenge Derek. I know that Debra's influence is present in Derek's compositions and arrangements. There are no words that can express the great sadness my son and I are feeling regarding the loss of Debra. She has taught my son piano for over four years, and I learned many things from Debra too. She was an awesome teacher and friend, and will be greatly missed. No one will ever be able to replace her.
