I have only recently seen this sad news and despite the passage of time have arranged for a Mass to be said for Din this week. I knew Din briefly when sitting the Bar finals with him many years ago. He was kind, friendly and witty and that is how I will always remember him.

There are only a few people in your life who truly touch you, Din was one of those for me. We were best mates at Bar School. We were so different in every way, but just bonded. I think it was just that, we just liked each other. We did everything together. I'll give you one example of our bond. I told Din that I knew what they'd ask on the Tort paper, so I told him. He just laughed. However, when we did the Bar finals, and I was right, Din stood up in the room, caught my eye, and held up his thumb to me as a salute. He was truly my solid best friend.

Din was the wittiest person I ever knew. A party was always a lot more fun when Din was around. At the same time, Din was considerate, warm. Many great memories.

We had not seen Din or Sue for a long time, and we were so saddened to discover at Middle Temple that he died at so young an age. We remember him so fondly as a tour de force of wit, energy and kindness.

Din literally turned my life around with an amazing performance in court in spite of him having the worst case of flu I've ever seen. He was splendid, kind, funny and a great pleasure to have met. Condolences and best wishes to his family who must be extremely proud of him.

Din was a really charming and delightful fellow lawyer among our cohort at Brasenose, and continued to live a good life. My memories of him seem too alive for him not to be with us any more. He will be much missed.
