Deirdre Mulready FitzSimons

Deirdre Mulready FitzSimons passed away peacefully with the love of her in Folsom, CA. She was also known as Dee. She was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Brendan and Beth Wynne Mulready. She was a 1959 graduate of Frankfurt American High School, in Frankfurt, Germany. She then began classes at the University of Maryland, Munich campus, transferred to the College Park, Maryland campus and graduated in 1963 with a Major in English and Minor in Botany. She earned her Master's degree in 1984 in Counseling Psychology from Chapman College.



She was a proud US Navy brat and a career US Air Force officer spouse. After earning her Master's degree, she began a second career as a Family Court Mediator for Amador County where she served as a children's advocate for nearly two decades. She also loved books and was often found in the Children's Literature section of bookstores. She shared her love of reading with her kids who miss her greatly.



Deirdre is survived by her children Mary Alicia FitzSimons of Folsom CA, Kevin (Tae) FitzSimons of Napa CA, and Shannon FitzSimons of Pioneer CA. She is also survived by her nephew Michael (Jennifer) Lippert of Libertyville IL, her great-nephew Robert Lippert, cousins Louise Feeney (James Connaughton) of Bannockburn IL, Deirdre (Raymond) Burke of Dublin Ireland and other cousins in the US, UK and Ireland.



She is preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister Gael Lippert. They have been waiting for her with a shot of Jameson and a side of Irish wit. Also predeceasing her are her dear friends Mary B, Mamie and Jill D.



A memorial service will take place Wednesday, April 24, 2024, 11am at Green Valley Mortuary & Cemetery, 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, CA.

Memorial donations may be made to Folsom City Zoo or Planned Parenthood.
