Delores Beck Obituary
Mrs. Beck, 83, of Elgin, died Wednesday afternoon, April 23, 2014, at St. Isidore Health Center of Greenwood Prairie in Plainview.
Delores Lolita Schroeder was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Elgin, to Edwin and Lolita (Wolfgram) Schroeder. She attended rural Olmsted County schools and graduated from Elgin High School in 1948. On Dec. 1, 1951, she married Harold "Hap" Beck at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin.
Dottie lived her entire lifetime in the Elgin area except for when Hap was in the military and they lived in San Francisco from 1952 to 1954. She enjoyed word-search books, going fishing and spending time at the cabin. Dottie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin. Dottie worked for many years in the office of Beck Implement, the firm she and her husband owned.
Dottie is survived by her husband, Harold "Hap" Beck of Elgin; one daughter, Cindy (Robert) Giese of Lewistown, Mont.; three sons, Craig (Lisa) Beck and B.J. Beck, both of Elgin; and Ed Beck of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren, Ryan Giese, Erin Breen and Dillon Beck; five great-grandchildren, Cole, Ella, Brooke, Landon and Zack; and one sister, Lorayne (Nathan "Curly") Heins of Cottonwood, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Denise and two brothers, Milton and Harlan.
Friends and family may visit from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service at the church in Elgin on Monday.
