I wish there were more people in the world like your mother/grandmother. When my own mother speaks of her childhood in New Orleans she always mentions Mrs. Bennett. I can still remember meeting her in Mississippi and thinking she was an amazing woman. I know she will be missed by many people. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Having been Jean Bennett's next door neighbor for the first 9 years of my life I knew her to be lively, vivacious, entertaining and smart. Weren't all mothers in the 50's just like her? Hardly!!! Jean and Lillyn and the kids came to visit me in Mississippi in the late 90's. It was at that time I was able to fully appreciate what kind of a woman she was..truly a Renaissance Woman...so ahead of her time...She was in her mid-eighties...still working...still brillant...with a terrific sense of humor. This is by far a wonderful tribute to a woman that embraced all life has to offer. Way to go, Jean!!!

Kim and Lance,
Angele forwarded the link and I want to extend my sympathy to the family but also mention what a wonderful tribute in words to Grammy. Although I only met her a few times - I know she was certainly a 'one of a kind' in many ways. Not to mention - a trendsetter with her education and fashion!
Our prayers to all of you and hope to get together soon!
Tell Mom & Dad hello and give a kiss for Katie!
